Schwinn ads featured retail prices that represented what dealers in the
Midwest sold them for, but the increased costs of shipping made them a bit
higher elsewhere. So their ads always had that line in small print at the
bottom. Typically about a $5 difference if I recall correctly; I believe my
first Schwinn Varsity was advertised at $72.99 but in Northern California
they were $77.99.
