You can always get something with a bit of tooth that's not too aggressive
for such conditions like the Michelin Moab, or even check out tires with
"inverted" treads.
I used to use the 700c version of the Moab when it existed, and it was
very quiet, fast rolling, and quite grippy for winter commuting.

With the 1.5 IRC Metros, you'll probably shave over a pound off of your
ride. A pound of rotational weight combined with the lower rolling
resistance will be very noticeable, especially when accelerating off
the line. |
