I read some of your meditations for bicyclists. I am touched. I
thought I was the only one who felt a mystical, almost religious
connection to my riding. I've a special place in my heart for those
who, like me, ride and feel this connection.
I live in the Texas Panhandle and ride in Palo Duro Canyon state park
quite often during the summer and on winter days when it's nice. There
is a place, well off the beaten path that only bikers seem to go. I've
sat on the bench there and cried because I felt so close to my Old
Friend. I've sat there and asked the questions I didn't have anwers
for. And I've come home knowing that the answers are there and that I
am better for having asked the questions.
