Only a fly on the wall in your doc's exam room can say whether he or she
really said that (although it sounds quite plausible).

Different matter.
My friend who had the snip-snips was back on his mtb in ~2 weeks IIRC; good
as new (well, considering!) after 3 weeks or so...
