It's like Miranda (from sex and the city) when she finally fits back
into her skinny jeans!
For me it was my leather mini. (Not a superhsort skinny one, just a
short skirt). I put on 15 lbs between about 1999 and 2001- due to a
thyroid condition! I discovered that upping the mileage and working
out more during the winter got my metabolism kickstarted without
having to take meds; then the weight started to come off slowly. I had
never been able to bring myself to get rid of that mini because i
loved it and it was a birthday gift, and I was hoping that one day it
would fit again. I didn't know until 2002 why I had put on that
weight. Finally, in the winter of 2003, we attended a friend's party
and I tried on my leather mini because I knew I had lost some weight
and inches around my waist and was probably back to my old size. And
indeed it fit! It was just a tad snug, but i was so overjoyed that i
had kept that skirt. I lost the whole 15 pounds and am back to being
size 8 pants ( in canadian size) and I thank cycling for getting my
metabolism kickstarted. I also did spinning that winter and that
helped.I love my bike! There is no doubt, it really does work on
getting your metabolism going. And I was able to wear this other long
skirt I hadn't worn in two years.
I should point out though, that a year of horrible stress in 2004 due
all kind of job and relationship hassles and which caused a total
lack of appetite, kind of contributed to keeping the weight off and
even losing a bit more. LOsing weight through cycling is a lot more
fun, I can tell you. |
