Well Bill, I can believe the car stories and the stories of a wild
youth. My husband was a gear head in the sixties. If anyone lives in
Jersey they are familiar with the car races that went on at night on
the highway near the famous "Rutts Hutt" (best hot dogs in the
world)...They had car races, motorcycle races, and they were constantly
doing things that they still sit around with their beer and laugh
about.
When people hear the stories they can't believe they are true, but I
was there and they were true. Those cars were fast and furious. And the
guys were all maniacs. There was that certain crowd of guys in the
sixties who spent most of their lives souping up their cars, racing
them, and living near the edge of insanity when racing. I knew them
well.
So your stories of your youth are not far fetched for me. Not everyone
will believe stories from your past. As long as you know they are true,
what else matters? Why fight to make people believe you? They are your
memories and no one can take them from you. As for me, I will not tell
stories of my past. The sixties was a very strange time. To me it was
"THEE GENERATION" and there will never be a decade again to compare.
Plus, my "present" is wacky enough. :-)
Don't stop believing.
All Good Things,
Maggie |
