Subject: [bikehikers] KSTE apologizes

I received the following e-mail today in response to SABA's complaints. It
sounds like a "boilerplate" apology message sent to all who contacted the
station.

They got the date wrong. The remarks were made February 24, 2005.

While KSTE and Clear Channel's responses have been speedy, we are
considering what other actions might be appropriate. The League has ably
represented cyclists in this case, but it is local cyclists who are most
likely to be affected by the irresponsible remarks made by the local Clear
Channel stations' employees.

KSTE's station management apologizes for the in-appropriate cycling comments
made on Thursday, January 24. We will not tolerate advocating violence
against cyclists or any other group. We have taken corrective measures to
educate our staff as well as the community on bicycle safety. Moving
forward KSTE will also be working with the League of American Bicyclists on
cycling safety projects and events in the future. Thank your for writing and
voicing your concerns.
