| I would look at the Specialized Rockhopper line of bikes. The base model costs $520, or you can get it with disc brakes for $660. Both will cost slightly less in a bike shop. Maybe $480 and $620. For your type of riding a hardtail will be much better than a bike with full suspension. I would also look at Fuji's bikes. the Nevada 1.0 retails at $580 and you should also look at their tahoe line. The Tahoe comp retails at $800. I have Fuji and I love it!
