Had to think about that for a while. Usually I'm toward the front, so I don't see many first timers.

Only place would be a race like Chicago, where I'm in like wave 32, and have to work my way through a few hundred fat chicks on mountain bikes on Lake Shore Drive.

I guess I'd say not understanding the rules and etiquette of the bike leg of the race. Riding side by side and blocking faster cyclists overtaking.

It is a sport, there is a rule book. If you're going to compete in a sport, you ought to have an idea what you're supposed to do.
