Personally, I look at price and performance. Performance is the priortity for my racing gear, price the priority for everyday riding.
Fashion and color, other than bright and reflective clothing to make myself more visible, are secondary. If I can color coordinate for the same price or very close, I'll do it, but otherwise its not on the radar.
Am I alone in thinking this way? I don't know. I can't speak for the rest of the world.
