Lately I've had the experience of commuting to a downtown office instead of
burbs. Lots more bikes, peds and very slow cars. Generally riders, peds and
drivers seems good downtown and in the burbs, but travelling between the two
is a bit nuts. Cars continually cut me off or honk if I leave more than 6
feet to the car in front of me. We're all shouting and gesturing insults at
each other. Riders are blasting through lights like they have a death wish
but they're wearing helmets (not required by law) so obviously they are
safe. They even run into me as I have this silly habit of stopping for
lights with cross traffic.

I think I know where all those rude drivers come from, they're the
light-blowing cyclists who bought cars. I've had enough of all these
confrontations. I going back to ignoring the idiots and just trying to avoid
my own mistakes and to be as polite as possible to other road users. It sure
made for a lot nicer rides.
