Middx is a big area where are you talking about specifically?

Online try online...some good bargains. First here's what to do, go to a shop like John Lewis's try some bikes for size write down the model numbers etc you like and then look online for the same bike. I bet you will save a good £200 pounds buying on line.

Halfords have alimited range and to be perfectly honest I do not like their own brand of bikes....rubbish.

Failing this of course you could always by a good second hand bike out of your local paper.

Personally I just love the swedish or dutch bikes....but you have to pay for them.

Try an independent bike shop, the staff are generally more helpful than Halfords (who are useless). In Middx, you are near Action Bikes who have branches in south west London or Cycle Surgery with big branches around London. Or else there are some websites you can try like fisheroutdoor.co.uk
Good luck

Loads of places in Essex. A big bike shop by the market in Basildon town centre and a really huge new site selling every sort of bike imaginable at the Tarpots junction on the A13 at Benfleet. Coming from London on the left just before the Tarpots roundabout. The A13 is the old Southend road ,more or less straight all the way from Aldgate . There may be bigger sites nearer I don't know of course.

Some branches of Halfords have a specialist 'Bike Hut' in store. These will have better trained staff and will offer good advice. Check out the 'Boardman' range. (see Boardmanbikes.com)

Hi - Evans are BRILL, really helpful. Check out their website for more info (google it). Also, in Welwyn Garden City, theres a Marshalls Cycles. Theyre great too, regularly help out and and hubby bike queries. I can pass you their details if youd like
