can anyone answer my question about the Tour de France?

how come the cyclists behind, not in lead, don't just overtake the ppl in front? The can right, can't they? So why don't they?

Well... When you are behind the leaders, you get less wind resistance, so it's a little easier on you. Also, sometimes the riders are just team riders, and are there to help the team leader. It could also be that the riders you are referring to are perhaps mountain specialists, they will show their stuff when the roads start to climb. I hope this helps.
