What kind of bicycle should I get? - Cycling Mob: Road Cycling, Mountain Biking and More

I am 16 years old and getting into the semi-professional level of cycling. I have been looking at several different bikes but I'm really not sure what I should get.

All I can say is don't, please don't, go to Wal-Mart. Theirs are toys, not bikes. Likewise with other stores of that sort. You need to go to a bike shop. It's more expensive, yes, but you'll save in the long run.

Beyond that, it all depends on what you're into and how much you want to spend. Think those questions over and your local shop will be glad to help you.

As for brands, I'll just go right ahead and say that Specialized is what I consider to be the best as an experienced cyclist. Cannondale, Fuji, Trek, and anything else sold at a shop is great too.

cannondale makes great quality bikes.
