How do you adjust the rear derailers on a mountain bike (Shimmano Deore derailer)?

$126 bucks for new brakes and a service job and they didn't even get the derailers set right.. not going back to that place lol.

With the chain on the smallest cog wheel, take all the slack out of the cable (release the cable holding nut andpull the cable with a pair of pliers while tightening the nut).
Look for two small adjusting screws on the derailleur. They are detente screws (they keep the chain from falling off.)
Adjust those.

I would take it back and demand that they fix it. You've paid for it and they haven't done it so you are definitely entitled to have them do the job.

If you really want to do it yourself then there is an excellent "how to" guide at Park tools (http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=64)

Basically you have to start on the highest gear (which is the smallest cog) and work up towards the biggest cog.

To explain the whole process here would take forever. It is fairly simple (nowhere near as complicated as a lot of folks make out) but an ass to explain here.

I hope Park Tools helps
