Will the Shimano XTR rear derailer work with an 8 speed cog?
I have a Schwinn hardtail bike, and I'm looking to upgrade after I ripped off my last derailer.

I might consider an XTR front derailer as well.
This is a MOUNTAIN BIKE
the derailer that is now broken was an Alivio, which worked decent, but the front Alivio is really slow and rough... even after fine adjustments
