If baby bikes have a fixed wheel...FIXIE?

It might sound crazy, but I was wondering, those baby bicycles were fixed gear. Can we perhaps steal their hub and build a adult wheel with it? Theoretically, both are fixed gears, so....
would it work?

In theory - Yes!!!

If you are an experienced wheel builder then, by all means go ahead!

Having no experience at building wheels, It's dawning on me that I'm out of my depth!!!!

Hub, rims, spokes! - can't be that difficult - Can It???

I have asked this question before, but I got mixed reviews. I'm asking again, hoping to get more opinions on this.

Issues that I see with doing this:

1) Very cheap hub/bearings/axle that won't hold up.

2) A lot of those have the spokes "molded" in to the hub so that the spokes are not replaceable.

3) Axle spacing. while am not sure exactly what the spacing for these cheap hubs are, the spacing is for sure a lot smaller than on any adult bicycle. You could potentially use spacers to make the cheap hub work, but you would be just making a weak system even weaker.
