That depends on where you are and which department you are dealing with.
Take Silicon valley, for instance. The sheriffs are good to deal with
but the Santa Clara city cops are flat ass corrupt, and the same goes
for Fremont city cops. I won't drive in Santa Clara (town) for anything,
yet the sheriffs are a pretty good lot. Fremont sets up totally bogus
speed traps and has 2 officers at the phony radar site to back each
other up. I was coming home from the bay area and came around a 20 MPH
construction turn then wham the is a motorcycle cop waving me over. He
said he clocked me at 47 MPH, which was a physical impossibility. When I
asked if he had clocked anyone faster he said he got a Mercedes at 73
MPH. Completely bull**** since coming out of the corner is about 10%
uphill and as soon as I rounded the corner the cop was visible so nobody
would be speeding into a radar gun.
Those are the kind that give good cops a bad name.
