Interesting you should mention that. Saturday, my dad, who knows how
much biking means to me, asked me if bicyclists were required to follow
the same traffic laws as motorists. He was really irritated that at
stop sign a group of cyclists just blew through the sign, as if it
wasn't there. My response was that most cyclists would be just as
upset, and this was a major reason why motorists will not accept us as
equals on the road.

I know that this may be a hasty generalization, but I tend to see most
of this happening with the club riders.

We are not "equals", driving is a privilege, cycling is a right. Driving
requires a license, a certification process, equipment safety regulations and
inspections, and liability insurance, cycling requires none of these things.
Bikes aren't cars.
