Hope for the Future

Off the bike, I'm a school photographer. Today, I got a kid in the seventh
grade--age 12--come up to my camera, and he mentioned something about sore
knees.

"Oh?" I asked him, as I got him set for his photo. "Why are your knees
sore?"

"I ride my bike every day," he said, "around the block, real fast. I'm
gonna be great someday, gonna ride in the Tour de France, just like Lance
Armstrong"

I smiled. "One day, you'll ride like Armstrong and Mayo and Hamilton, eh?"

"Yeah, that'll be me!" he beamed.

I took his photo, and I advised him to raise his saddle a bit so that his
knees wouldn't be so sore.
