Just caught the tail end of Dekker's win on Comcast sports (unannounced 30
min special 14:30 EDTl, dammit) Pretty funny the way he sits up and
celebrates with the pack going absolutly ape**** chasing him down, and the
finish line is like 30-40 yds from him. He timed that down to the second,
lol.

That is why Eric Dekker is my favorite rider in the pro peloton. The
guy looks just plain happy to win. I'm not talking "Yeah, I'm the best
rider here" happy. But "Holy ****! I'm the best rider here! BooYAH!" I
have a few video clips from 2001 TDF where he won 3 stages. Every win
a big smile.

Ever met him? Seen any interviews? Me? nope. He definitely exhibits this
here, though! <g>
This is the feeling I have for most racers, but yeah, more for guys like
him. OTOH, I don't really like listening to D. Millar whining about feeling
sick and stuff (TdF 2003), though it's hard to blame them.

As a fan and dilettante, I love all these guys, even though I may rant and
rave.
