The real issue is what is the ratio between her leg length and her
torso. I'm 5' 9", but all my height is in my legs. My legs are longer
(by inseam length) than my 6' husband. Meanwhile, I wear "petites" in
women sizes if there's no sleeve length to worry about, because my
waist is so short, even for a woman. If a bike is set up for a man's
geometry (shorter legs, longer torso), it's hard to get a fit. This is
where WSD comes in. I've cobbled it together by doing things like
putting a very short stem on my bike, but I dream of the day when I
can get a custom-made bike to fit.
