For differing values of easy / hard / easier.

Changing the brakes on my bike (Hope mono mini disks) is a trivial
job, changing and adjusting the (drum) brakes on my old Mini was a
complete cow.

Any 'sludge' is thick to be sucked up the tube is too thick to run out the
drain. No reason any water won't pump out. And any filings (which are not
much of a worry any more--manufacturers no longer recommend an early first
oil change for new cars), will either be pumped out or caught in the filter.
I haven't had any problems with engine longevity on my vehicles.

The garage is optional. Do your own changes and put the extra $$ in the
garage fund

I'm inclined to agree with you, but note this: For over 25 years, the
REMA patch instructions have said something to the effect "vulcanizes
without heat" (well, in german, something like 'ohne hitze', but I don't
have it with me and my german is terrible).

Point is, if it's a misstatement to call the resulting process
"vulcanization", the misuse is widespread.
