I'm inclined to agree with you, but note this: For over 25 years, the
REMA patch instructions have said something to the effect "vulcanizes
without heat" (well, in german, something like 'ohne hitze', but I don't
have it with me and my german is terrible).
Point is, if it's a misstatement to call the resulting process
"vulcanization", the misuse is widespread.

That's probably where I picked it up from. I'm not too concerned if it's
actual vulcanization or simply contact cement, but it seems to work. :P

That's probably where I picked it up from. I'm not too concerned if it's
actual vulcanization or simply contact cement, but it seems to work. :P

Not disputed. The stuff works fine as long as the tube is clean and
dry and well-prepared. Roadside patches don't seem to hold as well as
ones done in the kitchen of an evening.
