Just picked up my paycheque and some more work to do.
And hopefully eluded the landlady's visit while I was
gone; I need that cheque to cover my November rent.
Woo-hoo! Survival for another month. Well, shelter,
at least.
Anyhow, I got a nice, refreshing, refrigerator-temperature
little night ride in. Part of my route to my client/boss's
place is on a multi-user path. Gothic black seems to be
the current Fall Fashion colour, which I think is nutz.
With shorter fall days and more inclement weather, black
has to be absolutely the worst choice. I didn't have any
real trouble seeing these shadow people, but I sure found
myself being more alert about them. And will continue to
be, for the remainder of the dark seasons. Wearing black
in the fall. And at night, to boot. Pffftt.
And so, to work. (But first, a hot mug o' Maxwell House.)
cheers,
Tom

I think I know the MUP you mean. I've (being lazy) been riding with an
amber front blinky and a red rear one. That means I'm visually
challenged. It works ok on city streets, and I don't have to wear my
helmet lamp.
Even the dog walkers are invisible - and the dogs are still on 20 foot
elastic leashes. I ride slow and watch carefully, and as usual they are
behaving like they are alone out there.
I feel like we are slipping downhill into lame rants about very little...
Where is the FABulous one?
:-}
Cheers, Bernie

I exit the park and get onto Beresford, push down to Metrotown Stn, and
get onto the 7-11 there. Then it's dodge pedestrians and cool the speed
and lots of bell dinging (do it! ;-} ) til I get onto a very short bit
of Beresford, thru the light and onto Royal Oak? for a very short bit
and back onto the 7-11. Jeez, you'd think I was hung up on bike paths!
Oh well. It's working for me. Mind you that route for me is only
weekend runs into and out of Vancouver.

either. I met one (again on the 7-11) tonight whilst uphilling past
Scott Paper in New West. I could see this thing that vaguely looked
like a dark figure standing on the path a hundred meters ahead or so,
but the perspective was wrong. It was a young man, standing very still,
fully dressed in black, skateboarding down a longish not too steep
(sorry no math tonight!) grade. In the late dusk it was wierd figgering
out what he was.
We can bite into global warming another time.
Don't work too hard!
