Any good cycle routes from Newcastle - York?

Im doin a huge bike ride next yr for cancer research uk, cycling from Newcastle upon Tyne - London - Cardiff - Dublin -Belfast -Edinburgh and home again to Newcastle.
Newcastle to York is first stage, so help me out with a route please guys

Hey Lee! I am not from your area so I can't help you with the route. I can give you a link that will help you plan a route! This is nice as you can map it out then you click on elevation and it gives you a graph of the elevation changes. What you need to know is the actual road conditions in the area (that's where an outsider can't help). I suggest you try the map and once you choose a route, drive it with a car to be sure. There are many places around here (Ohio) that the county roads may change to gravel.
