How to pull a crank which has messed-up thread?

I use square taper bb. In addition to the question, since I accidentally cross threaded the crank puller with the crank, the whole thread of the crank was messed up really bad, there's no contact between the crank puller and the crank any more after that. It is the non-drive side. I tried to pull it out, but theres no point doing that, so... Please help!!! I greatly appreciate it!!!

I have done this 3 ways.
1. If it's the drive side, take off the other crank arm. Remove the bearing cup. Taking a punch and hammer, punch out the spindle from the drive side. I think this works with most BB. If you are lucky enough to be able to remove the other side (not common on newer BB) with the crank arm on, you can do this from either side.

2. If you can't do that. Try a auto gear puller. You have to have just the right size. (many are too thick) I actually made a plate out of alum, with a slot to slide over the spindle behind the crank arm to provide a good grip for the puller. (i hope I explained this OK)

3. I used a small grinder disk and cut through the crank arm on the thinnest part down to the spindle. I was able to pry it finger loose with a large screwdriver slipped into the cut I had made. I was careful and the spindle was not damaged.

If I wasn't clear let me know. I'll try to re-word any part not clear to you.
