Does the trainer tire (the slick) need to be the same size as my original Mtn bike

Thanks for your answers! Yup, that would explain why the tube that I've been using with my 26 X 2.2 nobby tire is a little too lumpy/ bumpy under the 26 X 1.25 trainer slick.
Back to the bike shop, thanks for your help!!

I agree with Kimber, The Diameter needs to match the original wheel, the width of the tyre isn't that important though!

Just a thought, It may be easier to have a spare wheel to use for your trainer, it's far quicker to change and the condition of the wheel doesn't really matter. As long as it spins freely, the spare wheel needn't be the same size as the original either!
