You will need to devote 3 - 4 hours of training per day just on the bike to start with. Get your usa cycling card, enter as many top notch races as you can, finish well in all of those and talk to as many pro cyclists as you can to try to get on a good team.
train hard, get in to an incredible shape (you should be way better than any of your buddies) then get in to races, meet with racing teams, then get even faster and the it might, just might happen
