| I am not a doctor, so I don't know the level of danger. But, if they hurt you have a problem.
I assume you are wearing bicycle shorts or tights.
The problem could be how the bike fits or the adjustment of the bike.
I would look first at the saddle. Is it adjusted at the right hight for you? Is the seat level or is the front of the saddle slightly raised (my guess this may be it).
Your handle bar stem could be making you reach too far forward leaning on the boys as you do.

If that doesn't help simply take the bike to your local bike shop and ask for a fitting. You may have to pay $10 for this service, but that could be the best $10 you spend this week.
