| You don't say which country you are from. Unless there is a specific cycle path, I believe that it is illegal to cycle the 'wrong way' down a street. Near me, there are a couple of roads where it is legal. The street is one way, but drivers are warned by signs that cyclists may be coming from the opposite direction. As a cyclist, you should always follow the rules of the road (yes, even stopping at red traffic lights) As a car driver, I recommend that any cyclist (wherever you are) wears bright clothing that reflects light. There is nothing more scary than a cyclist wearing black, cycling in the dark! You can never have too much dayglo! When I cycle at night, I have not had many problems at all (even in the centre of London) as drivers can see me coming a mile off!
