chain breaker tool question?

i bought a new chain for my BMX without a master link but the chain is too long.
if i use the tool to remove some links off, will the chain tool put it back together again?

i used this kind

yes of course.
Tip: don't push the rivet all the way out, just enough to release the other chain link. Then it's easy to put the chain in the tool the other way and push the rivet back in, to join the chain. Read the instructions to find how to ensure the join is not stiff!

You really need to go to this link and read up before you mess up a new chain. In fact I would practice on removing a link from your old chain before attempting the new one.
