I know I girl can physically ride..but what I mean is...other then the ease of getting on and off...what is the real reason that men and women bike frames are shaped differently?
Ther are far fewer girl frames than there used to be. Men's frames are a stronger, stiffer design. There is really no reason for a women's frame to exsist. They are a little easier to put your leg over is all. The skirt thing in the 1st answer is the reason they were ever built.
I think its all done out of habit at this point, I'm not real positive but I believe they used to make the "girl" bikes like that for the ladies wearing skirts, the bike version of a side saddle, not many women wearing skirts ride bikes anymore but still, well unless your Jessica Lansbury on Murder she Wrote!
