Can I use a spoke for a bike's rear wheel for the front wheel?

I broke a spoke on my front wheel and I don't have time to go to a shop. I have a bunch of spokes left over from when I rebuilt my rear wheel.

Can I use one of them, temporarily, in my front wheel? Will it cause damage to the rim, etc if it is too short/long?
