How do I reconnect the brake wire after replacing the wheel?

I know i am probaby missing something really obvious here, doh! But i disconnected it, put the wheel on, and now need to get the wire back into its holder thing but whatever i do it wont reach, it seems physically impossible! Help

mtbwacky is on a distinguished road
The silver thing on the cable housing is called a noodle. The noodle has a flange on the end that goes into a slot on the opposite brake arm (the little craddle thing the goes over the wheel).
