What do pegs do on a bike????????????

This may sound dumb but at first i thought they were for people to ride on the back but when i bought my new bike they were in the front. What do the pegs do and do they go on the back or front

They are used for grinding on rails and other tricks... and yes they are used for standing..... you can put 2 on one side to grind or have 2 on the back or front, since it seems that you dont want to be doing many tricks i would put them on the back of the bike.

They help you do tricks. Or they can help you ride with anoter person on the back or front.

Well yeah they are used to do that too but they have other uses. They are used to grind on rails, benches and other things. They are also used for Flatland tricks. Me on the other hand, my pegs are on the left side of my bike so that i can grind.

they are used for grinding type tricks, see the Xgames. or for standing on ala flatland style. they have been used to carry passengers but i would advise aginst this since many of the less expensive bikes that i have seen this done on simply are not designed to accomodate the extra weight.

Actually pegs are intended solely for tricks. Riding another person (2 people on a bike built for 1) is illegal on public roads. You could do it of road.
