Does anyone know of any good bike trails running through or along the hills of southern california?
I know there are a lot, but I'm looking for specific answers.
Possibly something close to Pasasdena?
Noah,
rather than give you a lengthy explanation of what I personally know - I will merely provide you a direct link to the City of Pasadena and their available bicycle paths.
The first link is for the areas available for biking in the City of Pasadena, the second link will provide you an opportunity to look at additional terrific Southern California sites for bicycle riding in addition to Pasadena, and finally the 3rd link is for the mountainous areas above Pasadena specifically. Plan your trip so that you can visit the Observatory - it would be a good work out for you and you can later gaze at stars other than ones you see in Hollywood just 30 minutes (by car) away.
Lastly, and I mean no disrespect with this. As a very proud "Angelino" and Southern Californian the correct term is either "California" or "Southern Cal" there is no "i" in CAL when spoken or written - at least not from those of us who have lived, worked, and absolutely adore our "Golden State". I also realize you meant nothing by this - some Californians I know would get upset in person if they heard this.
Lastly, since you are or will be in Pasadena. Go down Colorado Blvd. to "Old Town" Pasadena after your bike ride. Terrific restaurants with reasonable prices.
Enjoy and try to do this at Sunset if at all possible!
