Interesting McG.....

I've often thought about all the wasted power I've pumped into my trainer over the years.

If I were to do this, I'd set it up to charge a battery, and use that to drive TV or 'puter. The voltage fluctuations of even a relatively steady ride aren't real good for sensitive electronics.

Here are plans to build your own trainer style:

This guy made a "sort of" exercise bike back in 1976 to make inverted 110V.

When I were lad, I hadda thing on backo me bike, called a dynamo. Takes motive force from the rear wheel, used it tu generate elec. for lights....

To build @ home, all y'all need is copper wire, an magnets. Basic physics. Pass a wire thru a magnetic field, in generates a charge. same vice-versa. Spin four magnets attatched round a spindle - centered within a coil of copper wire... instant electric. Although, strength o magnets, No. of coils & RPM of magnets will all alter current.

And a T.V. useually doesn't count as 'somthing small' as it almost certainly features on the list of 'high drain home appliances'
