Weightlifting closes your growth plates. So would things like cycling close your...

...growth-plates in your legs? Because weight lifting and stuff makes growth plates close and stop producing growth hormones.. but if you do things like cycling for your legs will the growth plates in your legs close, or will it do the opposite and produce growth horomones (i once heard it did this)?
