What kind of road bike should I buy?

I'm looking for somthing between $1,000 and $1,800. I really don't want any componets less than shimano 105.

There are plenty out there to choose from, I'm not even going to mention any names 'cos everyone has a different opinion!

What I will emphasize though is fit! Whatever bike you buy make sure it fits properly, - again I will give you no web-site charts because they vary too!!

Pop along to your local bike shop, let them size you and show you their bikes (whatever method they use to size you will fit their bikes) THEN . . . visit another and see what they have to offer - if you find a bike you like you can play one off against the other and buy a bargain! My LBS will match or better any bike / bits from another retailer!

for that price rage you can get a dura ace carbon bike slightly used on ebay.
i would go with a specialized, trek or giant
