Where is this, exactly?

I have no idea if you're joking, so I'll go with the serious answer, to wit:
my penis.
Am currently experimenting with a new saddle (a Koobi Enduro PRS) and its
fore-aft position. Problem is, "numb nuts" often takes months to resolve,
from what I've read. The Koobi has a 30-day money-back guarantee, but I may
learn nothing in that short a time. We'll see how it goes. Am also giving
serious thought to buying a 'bent.
I'm not heartened by stories of other guys having similar symptoms but only
after extreme trauma (e.g., riding off Half Dome and landing genitals first
on the top tube), or extreme amounts of time in the saddle. I'm only doing
4 or 5 hours a week.

Nah, I had exactly that problem with two different saddles, symptoms
coming on during rides as short as 30 minutes. In other words, nearly
instantaneous.
I tried adjusting the first saddle every which way, and decided that the
thick padding and shape was what was killing me. I bought a complete and
utter ass-hatchet of a saddle, a Selle Italia Nitrox. We're talking
narrow, barely padded, looks like it would wreck your anatomy in about
three seconds.
It doesn't. It's perfect. This particular saddle is so good to me that I
have bought five copies of this saddle (all at deep discounts from MSRP;
the most I ever paid was $7 for one), including one that is an unmounted
spare, waiting for the sad day when another Nitrox wears out.
I just went into my tiny bike room, where my road bike, race bike, and
dirt bike hang in a perverse arrangement on one wall. I was amused by
the sight of the same ridiculous orange Nitrox saddle on all three bikes.
So, the moral of the story is that if it hurts your very personal and
private place now, and you've tried adjusting the saddle, then it's not
going to get better. Try a different saddle shape.
Liked the Nitrox so much, I traded a suede Pinarello saddle for one
(that was the second saddle that made me numb),

So how is the Koobi so far? That's one model I've been thinking about.
I have the Enduro, but also have one bike that could use a touch of
smoothing.
Have you talked to your doctor(s) about any relation between the
lumbar problem and the numbness? What you have described seems a bit
extreme for the amount you ride.
Angle and position are pretty important. Spend time moving it around.
Carry a wrench on rides and be prepared to make changes as you go
along. As I warm up, my posture and position can change, and my
awareness of certain pressures can change. Being able to make an
adjustment on the fly can be helpful.
