| SPD-R cleats & Winwood Instep Pedal Adapters I recently (mistakenly) purchased the SPD (non -R type) Winwood/Instep
adapters which are used to turn SPD-type clipless pedals to standard
basket clip pedals... I actually have SPD-R pedals on my bike.
Winwood makes Look and SPD types, apparently, but no SPD-R types.
I've not been able to find any other brand of adapters like this...
so, i am wondering, does anyone know if 1) the cleat that comes with
these adapters is actually a 'standard' SPD cleat? if so, 2)
are the holes/other mounting considerations for SPD and SPD-R cleats
identical? Ultimately, I'm wondering if I could just purchase SPD-R
cleats and install them in place of the cleat that comes with the
Winwood adapters?
I'm not looking to start a toe-clip vs clipless thread.. i am a fan of
my clipless pedals, but due to a skiiing-induced knee injury, I would
like to be able to switch easily to clip/basket pedals for the time
being.
Thanks very much in advance.
