I bought a Redline Monocog Flight

Hi All,

I am new to bike riding and new to single speed riding, but I wanted
to get into shape and have a good time, so I did a bit of research and
decided upon a Redline Monocog Flight. It is their new aluminum frame
SS and it is loads of fun.

I became interested in a Single Speed when a friend at work bought one
- I believe a Spot bike. And hearing his description made me
interested enough to do some research, and 2 weeks later I just
received my bike and came back from my first ride. I plan on using
the monocog as a commuter until I get in better shape and then taking
it out with friends who have been riding for about a year.

I could not find anything by anyone about the monocog flight, so I
wanted to post a little something and say that the thing feels really
light (to me, but then again I know nothing) and is very fun to ride.
At first I kept thinking that I wished the gear was a little more
powerful, as I wasn't riding that fast. That was on the way down the
hill. The way back up was a mofo, but I managed not to stop (although
I did a heck of a lot of standing up).

As far as the monocog goes, I love it. The seat was a bit tough on
the hindquarters, but after my legs and lungs started burning, I
noticed that I didn't really have any buttly discomfort.

I'll keep you posted. If anyone has any questions, I'll do my best to
answer - but remember I don't know a thing. I'm just here to ride and
have fun.

-Andy

Wow he bought a Spot! One of the coolest ss mountain bikes made in
Vancouver, and the concept originated from riding the north shore
mountains (actually part of Greater Vancouver). Don't know where you
are but if he knew enought to buy a Spot just follow him.
