My first crash (road rash)

I went down on wednesday (5 days ago). We were going 22 miles per hour
at the time on blacktop. I broke my helmet, really bruised my butt
muscle, and have a nasty road rash on the side of my hip. All in all,
I think I got out pretty well.

I treated the road rash for the first 2 days with neosporin and have
been using a product called "Bag Balm" since then. It is an older
product that was originally used on cow udders to reduce chaffing and
help minor cuts and scraps. My road rash is doing quite well and I
will let you know more about how i do as time progresses. I think that
I might really be on to something here.

Anybody ever try the bag balm before?

You were drafting and clipped your buddy's rear wheel?

Re: My first crash (road rash)

I've used Bag Balm quite successfully for saddle sores but haven't tried it for
road rash. Sounds like a good idea, though it won't deter infection as
Neosporin can.
