Purchasing CO2 Cartridges in France?

I'm traveling to France in a couple of weeks for a cycling tour that
includes the TDF, and I've heard that CO2 cartridges are not permitted on
airplanes, even as checked baggage. Is this correct?

And, is it possible to purchase CO2 cartridges in France?

Can't answer the first question (why not check the baggage info on your
airline's web site?), but Decathlon (http:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) sells at least
a couple of CO2-operated hand pumps, so they probably carry the cartridges
too. You could also try Go Sport (http:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Both have outlets
throughout France, which you can locate via the above web sites.

Have fun!
