Performance Viewpoint Gen3 Lights L.E.D.

Is anyone using the new Gen3 lights from Performance?

<http://www.performancebike.com/shop/Profile.cfm?SKU=18632>

I was wondering how bright they really are as I have yet to see a
single LED light that was very bright and these claim to provide
more than 10 watts of light from a single LED. TIA.

I was considering one of these, also. The price is OK but it sure seems like
less hassle than my VistaLite. I'd like to hear from an owner, too.

Re: Performance Viewpoint Gen3 Lights L.E.D.

How about white LED headlights of any brand or model on bikes?

For example Planet Bike has a single LED light using a Luxeon 1w led--is
it good enough under any circumstance at all?

I use a Niterider HID for commuting on over roads ranging from well
lighted urban streets to narrow un-lighted "country' roads. In late
Spring and early Fall the Niterider is overkill/overweight.

So the long burn times of the LED units are attractive, and work well
for being seen, but how about to see by.
