| $33 shoe and $20 pedal from Nashbar actually not bad at all... I got them to tide me over while trying to find some vintage cleats on
e-bay.
I Just came back from my first ride with them and I can't find anything at
all that I don't like. The forefoot's a little big--but I've got narrow
feet and an insole will cure that. Very happy. Anybody else ride these?
Nashbar road shoe called "Shadow". Silver graphics are butt ugly, just
paint over those bits with black fabric paint. The quality is basic,
but nicer than the 70 dollar mass market Shimano road shoes. Made by Lake.
Drilled for spd and Looks.
Nashbar atb pedal made by wellgo. Lotsa float if you like that (my knees
really do). Very secure--I stomped a few huge hills today with the tension
set at one click. Didn't pull out. Other folks on the web say the same
thing--these are entry level price, but certainly don't feel it. The
bearings feel nice and buttery--perfectly factory tight. Should loosen in
a week or so. They're spd clones. Blue.
Just thought I'd offer my 2c for anyone that was thinking of trying some
clipless on a budget. |
