PGP - pretty good progress?

Wow, I remember still struggling a bit (mainly mental) to make sure I
got in my 100mi/wk in Late May/June, having ridden the first 100mi/wk
in April. Even had a dip in mileage in June due to a little fall.

This week was the first 160mile week (Mon to Sun), and oddly, it was
-very- easy. I even goofed off a little on Monday, recovering from
traveling, meaning I got 154 miles in 6 days(*).

Admittedly, I'm riding flatter terrain - but 90min in the saddle is
still 90 minutes at my stage. ;-)

(Not that great, but progress is -much- faster than I expected in less
than a year back.)

So...uh, yay, me. ;-p

-B
Pace is not too bad at 17mph/avg. Today I did the first 15miles at 18
mph avg speed(*).

*(This is a correction of a prev. post in a wrong newsgroup. Catseye
setting incorrect at first.)

Way to go, Badger! I think you're hooked now. Once you're hooked, it
will be hard to keep your mileage down.

Think carefully before setting a goal, it may control your life. My
initial goal for the year was 1 million vertical feet, but Mike J.
suggested I raise it to 200 vertical miles (thanks, Mike). I have
127 miles to date, and there's still 165 days left to the year.

Wish I could average 17 mph. 16 mph is a fast ride for me.

I've now gotten to the point where I need to take more care of my, uh,
seating arrangements. Just can't slap on the clean bike shorts and go.
Now I gotta well, be sure I don't get butt overuse injuries, let's
just say. Even though I don't have 'numb butt', I get small cuts at
this # of miles, it seems.

Your 16 is on grade. Mine is on flats - Va Bch, remember, haha. Plus
my rides are short, 90 min, so easier to have a higher average speed.

But thx for the pos reinf. ;-)
