Any Med. bicyclists?

Any bicyclists w/med knowledge help with this, please?

I injured myself riding a regular 10 speed commuter bike. I was
carrying a couple of bags around 10 lbs each in each and the load
became unbalanced.

I figure I either injured a blood vessel or a nerve because now my
calf on that one leg gets cold and numb and it is aggravated
everytime I try to ride again. This condition has lasted roughly a
year and I finally decided I'd have to stop riding.

Because my med. insurance is not that great, the doctors just want
to ignore it, since the tests necessary, probably an MRI, would be
cost prohibitive.

My question is, does anyone know enough about anatomy they can
give me a guesstimate as to what I may have injured. The injury
appears to be somewhere on the inseem between one butt cheeck and
my back bone and massaging there seems to help it.

How long should I wait before attempting to ride again and is
there anything I can do to speed recovery?

Thanks for any helpful replies.
