I did that once or twice but I considered it an anomoly (for my part).

My friend also sweats profusely. On one hot day (97F) after about 30
miles we stopped and he took off his helmet. I thought someone had
dumped a large bottle of water on his head but no one was near
him. Needless to say he prefers it cools (65 - 75) where as I (of
Irish/Scottish descent) prefer it slightly warmer at 85 - 95. Our
rides are always interesting as one or the other dislikes the
weather. :-) At least I can dress warmer.
